Renting Your Home In Sayreville
Before you rent out your home, make sure to register as a landlord with the Clerk’s Office. The form can be found here. Once you have done that and have found tenant, here are the forms needed for your rental inspection:

- New Jersey Lead-Safe Certification Requirement *please note we have partnered with LEW Environmental but you can use any company you want*
- Exemptions from Lead Certification include:
- The property has been certified to be free of lead-based paint
- The property was constructed after 1978
- The rental unit is in a multiple dwelling that has been registered with the DCA as a multiple dwelling for at least 10 years, and has no outstanding lead violations from the most recent cyclical inspection performed on the multiple dwelling under the "Hotel and Multiple Dwelling Law"
- Is a single family or two-family seasonal rental dwelling which is rented for less than 6 months duration each year by tenants that do not have consecutive lease renewals.
- Has a valid lead safe certification issued by accordance with this section.

The procedure for all rental and resale applications will be as follows:
- Create an account
- Complete the application, make sure all information required (*) is accurate and then submit
- Our office will review the application and forward an email with the appropriate fee usually within one business day.
- Pay the fee online and request a preferred appointment date (Resales – Monday and Wednesday, Rentals – Tuesday and Thursday)
- Upon receipt of the payment and review of the appointment request, our office will confirm the appointment or provide alternate dates via email.
