Sayreville South Amboy Waterfront Park Cleanup

On Saturday, June 6th, we had more than 80 volunteers from Sayreville and South Amboy come together for a Waterfront Park Cleanup as part of the Clean Communities Program and the Great American Cleanup.

Participants included members of Sacred Heart Youth Ministry, the Stallions Track Team, Boy Scout Troops 96 and 777, the Rotary Club, American Legion Post 68, council members from both communities, South Amboy Mayor Fred Henry and his wife, and representatives from the South Amboy Police Department, First Aid Squad, and Office of Emergency Management.

Despite the heat, volunteers gave up part of their Saturday morning to help clean and beautify the waterfront. It was great to have so many people come together, and the event served as a great example of neighboring communities working side by side toward a common goal. The strong turnout and positive spirit throughout the morning reflected the pride residents have in keeping our waterfront, parks, and public spaces clean and beautiful.

The success of this cleanup would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers and community partners. By working together to remove litter from the waterfront, they helped protect our local environment and demonstrated the positive impact that community involvement can have on preserving our natural resources.

This free app provides residents in The Borough of Sayreville with sanitation and recycling information specific to their zone. The app along with our website features a monthly calendar of sanitation and recycling pick-up days, a search function that provides information on the proper way to dispose of specific items and tips on ways to reduce waste. Users can also set reminders to inform them of sanitation and recycling pick-up days, as well as directly report problems to the Public Works Department.
 
 Thanks to the Department of Environmental Protection who purchased RECYCLE COACH'S online technology and to Middlesex County, so residents can now access information through their smart devices.

The RECYCLE COACH application download is available on the Google Play and Apple Store for free.
