Release Date: May 22, 2015

Directions to appeal the preliminary flood maps

APPEAL THE PRELIMINARY FLOOD MAPS

FEMA is required to allow residents located in a flood zone to file an appeal through the www.region2coastal.comm/appeals website.

The deadline to file this online only appeal is June 30, 2015

Please review this brief description on how to navigate this website.

  • Completely familiarize and review the “homeowners & renters – know your risk, know your role, take action” page.

  • In the “know your role” section – click the “appeals page”.

  • Before clicking the “FEMA Region II Preliminary Flood Map Feedback Portal”, review the “tutorial video” to completely understand the logon and appeal process.

  • After clicking the FEMA Region II Preliminary Flood Map Feedback Portal”, completely review the Overview, FAQS, and Resource pages before registering. In the FAQ section, if you are having difficulty registering or logging in to the Portal or having other technical difficulties, please contact via email region2coastal@rampp-ream.com with your concerns.

  • Lastly, register and file your appeal, if you have technical information as discussed in the tutorial, provide it in the section provided.

It is imperative that you as a homeowner file an appeal in conjunction with the Borough’s appeal in order to be considered. The Borough of Sayreville has hired CME Engineering to file this appeal for the entire community. This is a chance for the residents affected by these flood maps an opportunity to be heard.

Please advise and help your neighbors if necessary to file their appeal.
