Structure Fire 17 Kuberski Drive

At 7:29 this morning, Sayreville Police received calls regarding a smoke condition at 17 Kuberski Drive.  First arriving units reported a working fire on the front of the residence that had extended in to the second floor and attic of the house.  Sayreville Engine Company #1, the President Park Fire Company, Melrose Hose Company and Morgan Fire Company responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze.  The fire was declared under control at 8:02 am.

The structure, which was under renovation at the time of the fire, was unoccupied and there were no injuries to residents or first responders.

While not considered suspicious in nature the Sayreville Fire Marshall’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the official cause.

The Sayreville Fire Department is an all-volunteer fire organization comprised of four stations with about one hundred members. The fire department protects approximately 45,000 residents in an area of 17 square miles. The fire department responds to roughly 900 requests for service annually.  Information about membership is available via the Borough website www.Sayreville.com.
